Beer Distribution Game

Welcome to "Version 2" of the Beer Distribution Game. 

Version 2 of the game extends previous enhancements to include features that are expecially useful for using the game in on-line courses.

The two key new features are the ability to use "robot" players, and an "auto update" capability.

The "robot" allows the game to be played even when there are not enough players for each position.  The "robot" feature is enabled when initializing the game.  When this feature is used the program will automatically simulate a player in any position where a decision is not made.  In cases where a decision is not submitted the robot will place an order for the current demand at the position, and will ship current demand and backorders as limited by current inventory.

The "auto-update" capability will automatically update the game when either all the players have submitted a decision or when an elapsed time has passed.  The timer is set to 45 seconds for the first 10 periods and then moves to 30 seconds for the rest of the game.  This feature can be turned on and off as the game progresses.
